Survey: ASEAN sees China as most important partner
According to Japanese media reports, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the results of a survey on public opinion toward Japan conducted in ASEAN member countries on May 25, showing that regarding the future important partner countries or institutions in the G20 (multiple choices allowed), 48% of respondents answered that it was China,which is the first time China has been ranked first since the current survey in 2015.
According to reports, Japan’s share slipped 8 percentage points to 43% from the last survey in 2019. The third place is the United States, with a ratio of 41%.
The survey was conducted online and in interviews in January 2022 with 2,700 people aged 18 to 59. In addition to ASEAN, the same survey was conducted in the United States, Australia, India, etc.
