Kazakhstan’s exports reached $42.2 billion in the first half of the year

International Business News  –  According to the statistics of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, from January to June 2022, Kazakhstan’s total trade volume was 63.7 billion US dollars, an increase of 39.3% over the same period of the previous year (45.7 billion US dollars). During the same period, Kazakhstan’s exports increased by 56.3%, reaching 42.2 billion US dollars.

The increase in exports was attributable to increased exports of products such as: crude oil (84.7% increase), uranium (2.2 times increase), ferroalloys (57% increase), sulfur (3.2 times increase, except for sublimated, precipitated or colloidal sulfur), Wheat (up 54.1%), copper and cathode copper (up 16.5%), coal (up 2.1 times).

From January to June 2022, Kazakhstan’s imports increased by 14.6% to $21.4 billion. The increase in imports was attributable to an increase in the import volume of the following goods, such as: automobile bodies (2.5 times), pharmaceuticals in retail packaging (36.9% increase), other ferrous metal products (2.2 times increase), copper ores and concentrates (5.3 times increase) , internal combustion engines (up 2.2 times), auto and tractor spare parts (up 41.3%), telephones (up 22.7%).

From January to June 2022, Kazakhstan’s non-resource merchandise trade volume was US$31.6 billion, an increase of 20.6% over the same period of the previous year (US$26.2 billion). During the same period, Kazakhstan’s exports of resource commodities increased by 33.5%, reaching 12 billion US dollars. During this period, Kazakhstan’s imports of non-primary commodities rose by 13.9 percent to $19.6 billion.
