Over 44,800 industrial enterprises above designated size in Jiangsu were back to work by March 5, accounting for 99 percent of the total, according to the province’s Department of Industry and Information Technology. Such enterprises involved 6.66 million workers back to workplaces, or 80 percent of the total required.
Ten of 13 cities with subordinate districts in Jiangsu, namely Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, Nantong, Yancheng, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou and Suqian, reported the full resumption of production at industrial enterprises above designated size, which means industrial enterprises with annual main business income of 20 million yuan or above.
The department has set up 7 working groups, all led by the department’s heads, to provide direct assistance to enterprises trying to resume work and production in 13 cities.
Suzhou has sent service teams and governmental affairs officers, over 1,000 people in total, to offer targeted assistance to the city’s 10,682 industrial enterprises above designated size.
In Nantong, 6,500 cadres were sent to coordinate with more than 10,000 companies. Xuzhou gave priority to support 200 key enterprises and 200 important projects. Suqian also organized 1,095 officers to help coordinate epidemic control and work resumption in 1,705 industrial enterprises above designated size.
