Nanjing offers 12,098 jobs in online job fair

A two-week online job fair, launched on May 19 in Nanjing, will offer 12,098 positions from 561 employers in the city.

Among them, 1,174 offers are from 69 new research institutions, including Purple Mountain Laboratory for Network Communication and Security and Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, unicorn startups and high-growth gazelle companies.

About 78 percent of the jobs require applicants to hold at least a Bachelor’s degree, and 7 percent need applicants to have a Master’s or PhD degree.

Nanjing’s GDP reached 324.741 billion yuan in the first quarter, up 1.6 percent year-on-year. Among Chinese cities with a GDP over one trillion yuan, Nanjing is the only one to report a negative growth in the first quarter amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The city’s GDP ranked among the top ten in Chinese cities.
