Singapore Deputy Prime Minister “Heng Swee Keat” will step down as Minister of Finance

Singapore(新加坡) Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat will relinquish his role as finance minister at the next cabinet reshuffle, according to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The deputy prime minister informed the prime minister of his decision to step aside as the leader of Singapore’s fourth-generation leadership team of the People’s Action Party in a letter to the prime minister on Thursday. In the letter, the deputy prime minister cited his age of 60 years old as the main reason.

Mr. Heng will continue to work as Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, as well as Chairman of the National Research Foundation, the prime minister wrote in a letter to the deputy PM.
